Main Street Market LWR Vendor Qualification Policy
To maintain the integrity and purpose of Main Street Market as a product-based vendor market, all participating vendors must meet the following criteria:
1. Sales Requirement
Vendors must derive at least 80% of their gross profits from the sale of physical products and/or goods. This includes items that are handmade, locally produced, or retail merchandise directly available for purchase at the market.
2. Service-Based Businesses
Businesses whose primary purpose is to promote a service rather than sell products (e.g., real estate, fitness, insurance, or professional services) do not qualify as vendors. These businesses are welcome to participate through our Market Sponsorship Program, which provides marketing and promotional opportunities tailored to service-based companies.
3. Verification
Vendors may be asked to provide product lists, price ranges, or sales documentation to verify that their primary revenue aligns with the market’s product-based requirement.
4. Non-Compliance
Failure to meet the 80% product sales requirement may result in application denial or reclassification as a sponsorship participant.
This policy ensures that Main Street Market LWR remains a vibrant, shopping-focused experience for our community, supporting the artisans, creators, and small business owners who make our events special.
To ensure a balanced and thoughtfully curated market experience, Main Street Market limits the number of vendors accepted per product category. Our goal is to maintain a boutique-style atmosphere where shoppers can enjoy a wide variety of offerings — without oversaturating any one category.
Identical or Near-Identical Vendors:
For vendors offering nearly identical products (e.g., same product type, style, and branding), we typically limit acceptance to two vendors in that category.
Similar but Distinct Vendors:
For vendors offering products that may fall under the same general category (e.g., handmade candles, jewelry, apparel) but who clearly bring a unique selection, style, or presentation, we may allow three or more in that category. Each applicant is reviewed based on their individual offerings and how they contribute to a diverse market experience.
Avoiding Oversaturation:
We also monitor the broader mix of categories represented at each market. This ensures that the market remains varied and dynamic — not dominated by any one product type. Our goal is for customers to discover something new at every turn.
If multiple vendors in similar categories are accepted, we are mindful of booth placement. We intentionally space out similar vendors throughout the market to support healthy visibility and reduce direct competition, enhancing the experience for both vendors and shoppers.
